In the pilot episode, we present the question that landowners have been facing every day for nearly three years: are these pipelines really a “done deal”? How are residents fighting against them, and can they win? We trace the beginning of the current pipeline struggles in central and southwestern Virginia to determine the connection between the Atlantic Coast Pipeline (ACP) and the Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP).
We also take a look back at the early 2000s when Dominion lost the proposed Greenbrier Pipeline, an almost identical pipeline to the currently proposed ACP and MVP. We hear from organizer Mara Robbins on how Floyd County residents were able to get the MVP re-routed from their county in the fall of 2014.
